How many gentiles did jesus heal

The Canaanite woman does not contradict Him. But I also know that You love the nations and that Your grace will fall to us after coming to the Jews. All I want is this grace. So too will He save all those who cast themselves at His feet. Our prayers may sometimes seem like the encounter between Jesus and this woman.

Yet this Canaanite woman did not make this assumption. She kept on entreating Jesus to meet her need. We too must be willing to persevere in prayer, as sometimes the Lord is telling us to wait — not giving us a negative answer. Teaching Series. He did not send away this multitude of Gentiles because they were broken reeds and smoking flax.

Verse 14 anticipates His rejection. The passage then describes how Jesus went away and multitudes followed Him. Good job! Don, I found the prophecy in Isaiah 42 that Matthew was referencing. These verses jumped out at me: Isa I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; Isa To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.

Jesus had to fulfill this prophecy, which He did in Matthew. This chapter prophecies about Jesus and Paul, the Apostle to the Gentiles. Many years ago i was troubled about all the preachers in the world because so many preach truth and yet could also get way off track.

I prayed and asked the Lord, Who can i trust? Who can i follow? Jesus was sent to the Jews and yet He had to fulfill this prophecy. Bmariez, Look at the references and consider the context. Jesus will rule the earth as King over Jews and Gentiles not Church. He will exercise judgment but rule will be the defining operation Revelation 2. Don, pardon me but you seem to be saying that the context has to be within the framework you have already decided on, rather than the context of the scripture itself.

Matt clearly says that Jesus went out from His own country and preached to the Gentiles. This was at the beginning of His ministry. How do we know He did that? Matthew tells us so, and quotes the Old Testament prophet:. Mat That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Mat The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles; Mat The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.

Mat From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Pete, This passage does not say Jesus preached to Gentiles. Matthew 12 is different, as I indicated in my answer to bmariez. On the contrary, this passage clearly referred to Jews, not Gentiles.

The context of Isaiah 9. It was a promise to Jews who had forsaken God and embraced idolatry that they would be restored and brought into the light of the Messiah. That is what is going on in Matthew 4. God always planned to include Gentiles in the kingdom under Jesus Christ. What do you think He was doing there? Not sure how you arrive at the idea that these were Jews. This is what Matthew 4 is about. The 10 tribes had split and gone into idolatry. God disciplined them with invading Assyrians.

But God promised they would be restored. This is the meaning of Matthew 4. Yes, Gentiles were living there along with Jews. But it was Jewish land. Zebulun and Naphtali were sons of Jacob. And yes, God promised to include Gentiles, but Israel had to come first. Why do you think the 12 never went to Gentiles? Why do you think Peter did not address Gentiles at Pentecost?

Why do you think the 12 stayed in Jerusalem, even under intense persecution, when the other Jewish believers fled Acts 8. Why do you think Jesus gave the order of ministry in Acts 1. God revealed no plan to bless Gentiles apart from Israel repenting and accepting the Messiah.

Don, please look at the entire prophecy that was fulfilled in Matthew And in His name shall the Gentiles trust. And you were the first person that came to mind. Ask the Lord to open your eyes. I think you are right. Don, Regarding John Joh And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast: Joh The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.

Joh And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified. But His reply is clearer to me now in light of what I have seen from Matt In cross referencing vs. We really are forced to stop and think, Why was this His reply? Bmariez, The great secret of prophecy was how the Messiah would deal with sin.

It is only mentioned in one passage, Isaiah No Jew understood this passage. All blessing, whether to Israel or Gentiles, required the Messiah die. Don, Yes, draw all men to Himself…. He is promised the inheritance of the nations Psalm 2. The basic point remains sound, that Jesus did not have a ministry to Gentiles.

When He did on occasion, it was an exception or pointed to fulfillment of His inheritance of the nations and blessing them. Bmariez, Dear sister. Am not a scholar, or affiliated with this site.

Because the mysteries have been revealed to us. However I just want to caution you to not linger too long on this path. For in Matthew it is not yet clear nor is it offered as of yet. And linger there. There are many devices used against us by the enemy… The enemy would like to draw us away from the Gospel of Grace and draw us into murkey waters.

May the Lord bless you richly in your studies. She is not given what she wants with this address. This taken from Donald Barnhouse commentary on Revelation. Thank you. Grace and Peace. Hello brother, did Satan ever heal anyone in the bible, does he have the power to heal, ie. Thanks for your help. George, I do not know of a passage which specifically states this but Paul wrote the Corinthians 2 Corinthians The Jews had exorcists and demons caused certain diseases Acts Instead of sending her away, Jesus engages in a conversion.

Jesus plans to heal the woman, but he also wants to teach his disciples compassion. He has already healed several Gentiles and he made a trip into Gentile territory for the express purpose of healing a demonic. The irony was not lost on the woman. Jesus uses the diminutive form of the word dog, with the meaning of little dog or puppy, but to the Jewish mind, the insult was firmly grasped.

For Gentiles, however, dogs were pets. The Gospel of Mark includes two additional stories of Jesus interacting with Gentiles. The first of these follows immediately on the heels of our previous story of the Syrophoenician woman. According to Mark, Jesus travels from Tyre, which is 35 miles north of the Sea of Galilee and returns to the Decapolis, which is at the south end of the Sea of Galilee Mark Apparently, the former demoniac that Jesus had commissioned to share what had happened to him did a credible job.

When Jesus arrives, the people are aware that God has used Him to heal people. A crowd, presumably of Gentiles, bring a man with a speech impediment for Jesus to heal. Once again, Jesus heals the man. Mark writes this story in such a way that it gives every appearance that Jesus went significantly out of his way, headed into Gentile territory to heal this man.

He attracts a crowd. After several days of being with Jesus, the crowd was hungry. According to Mark, it was here, in the Decapolis region, where Jesus fed the 4, In Mark, Jesus fed 5, Jews and later, fed 4, Gentiles. One wonders when it may have dawned on His disciples that Jesus had no qualms with breaking bread with Gentiles.

That Jesus went out of his way to travel Gentile territory twice — three times in the Gospel of Mark — each time healing Gentiles in Gentile lands, teaches us that we should be willing to leave our comfort zones and cross racial barriers to restore broken relationships. Jesus may have focused his ministry on the Jews, but he certainly demonstrated compassion towards Gentiles, too.

Jesus taught his disciples that Gentiles positive response to the Gospel meant that they were accepted by God. This would prepare them for the day when Gentiles were included into the church without converting to Judaism. Part of his mission was that we would no longer be divided by titles or race: slave versus free; rich versus poor; Jew versus Gentile; or today, Armenian versus Turk; Ukrainian versus Russian; or Black versus White. Jesus lived a life of racial reconciliation in a world full of racial hate.

Jesus came not only to reconcile us with God, but also to reconcile us with each other: Jews and Gentiles, Armenians and Turks, and Black and White.

A fourth example is Jesus healing the demon-possessed daughter of the Syrophoenician woman Matthew I will put my Spirit upon him, and he shall proclaim justice to the Gentiles. Matthew And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, as a testimony to all nations; and then the end will come.

Mark ; Luke The same erroneous view is also supposedly apparent in the Gospel of Luke. The whole point of it was to show that Samaritans were truly neighbors to Jews if they helped them, as the man did in the parable.

Luke for mine eyes have seen thy salvation [31] which thou hast prepared in the presence of all peoples, [32] a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to thy people Israel. Thirdly, Jesus healed yet another foreigner: a Samaritan man, commending his faith Luke Fourthly, Jesus specifically went to the land of the Gentile Gadarenes or Gerasenes, east of the Sea of Galilee, to minister to them.
